Area teachers interested in participating in Gadsden Reads “The Shawl,” are encouraged to attend a teacher training class on October 9th at 5:30 p.m. They can receive information about lesson plans and additional resources. Ambassador Competition
Location: Center for Cultural Arts, Gadsden, AL 35901


A competition where one student from each local high school can win one all expense paid trip to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. in January of 2009. The 10 students selected, each from a different school will agree to be our campus point person on our "Big Read: The Shawl" discussions and events at their school. Deadline for application submission is November 5th. Winners will be announced the week of the 17th of November.
